SERVICES

  • Design + Project Management

We’ll meet to discuss what you want from your landscape. I’ll perform a site analysis, often making short visits over several days. I’ll start with broad space planning sketches. When we arrive at the map that feels right to you, I’ll create the detailed design and planting plans.

When we have a final design, I’ll solicit installation bids from skilled and qualified landscape contractors, meeting with contractors onsite. I’ll source the plants, which ensures that any necessary substitutions are thoughtful and right for the design. If desired, I can source hardscape materials and, as desired, furniture, bird baths, lighting, containers, and so on.

At the beginning of installation, I place all plants according to the design. I make frequent visits to the site to answer contractor questions, make necessary on-the-fly- decisions, and ensure that the work proceeds as planned.

Good for: Most of my clients choose this approach. I see your native garden from start to finish and beyond, checking on your plantings as they establish.

  • Consultation

In a typical consultation, I will meet with you at your home to see and hear about your existing landscape. We’ll discuss site challenges and your desires. A few days later, you’ll get a detailed list of recommendations from me, including plant palettes, placement, hardscape, and irrigation notes. You take it from there.

Good for: Established landscapes that are mostly working, DIYers who want to do their own research and planting, and those who aren’t yet ready to make their garden but want to think through the possibilities.

  • Design & Planting Plans

Need something in between? I can create full designs and planting plans for you to project manage on your own.

First, we’ll meet to discuss what you want from your landscape. I’ll perform a site analysis, often making short visits over several days. I’ll start with broad space planning sketches. When we arrive at the map that feels right to you, I’ll create the detailed design and planting plans. When we have a final design, you’ll hire a landscape contractor to install it.

Good for: Gardens in need of a “refresh” and landscapes from scratch that will be installed by skilled landscape professionals — typically someone the homeowner has worked with before— or DIYers who are experienced gardeners.
